About
Mr Tim Hookway FRCOG, LLM is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive experience in both benign and oncological gynaecology. He is based at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the Nuffield Plymouth Hospital. He has a specialist interest in complex pelvic surgery and leads a nationally accredited endometriosis centre, managing women with severe and deeply infiltrating disease. In addition to his benign gynaecological practice, he is a unit gynaecological oncology surgeon and is actively involved in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of gynaecological cancers. Mr Hookway is highly experienced in advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic, robotic, and open procedures, and undertakes a high volume of complex operative cases. He is also an accredited colposcopist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of cervical pathology. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Hookway undertakes regular medico-legal work on behalf of both claimants and defendants. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM), awarded with distinction, reflecting a focused interest in the legal and ethical dimensions of clinical practice. He prepares expert reports in accordance with CPR Part 35, with particular expertise in consent, surgical complications, and standards of care in obstetrics and gynaecology.
