About
Mr Mamdouh Shoukrey is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Dorset County Hospital NHS Trust, where he has held a substantive consultant post since 2011. He has been continuously employed within the NHS since 2001, bringing more than two decades of frontline clinical experience to his medico-legal practice. He currently leads the Trust's Gynaecology Minimal Access Service and previously served as Obstetrics Risk Management Lead Consultant — a role through which he conducted root cause analyses of serious untoward incidents and contributed to child death reviews. Mr Shoukrey holds the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Certificate in Civil Law and is listed on both the National Register of University Certificated Expert Witnesses and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He prepares approximately 50 CPR Part 35-compliant reports each year, instructed by claimants (80%) and defendants (20%), addressing both breach of duty and causation with clear reference to national guidelines and the peer-reviewed literature. He has provided oral evidence in the Family Court and the Coroner's Court. His clinical expertise spans the full breadth of obstetrics and gynaecology, with particular specialist interests in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, the management of complex labour and childbirth (including instrumental delivery and Caesarean section), the management of birth-related injury, endometriosis, and acute and early-pregnancy gynaecology. He has introduced several new surgical procedures at his Trust and has authored peer-reviewed publications in gynaecological surgery. Mr Shoukrey was named Best Expert Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology 2024 (South West England) at the SME UK Enterprise Awards and Obstetrics & Gynaecology Expert of the Year 2025 by Lawyer Monthly. He is annually invited to teach at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is a registered RCOG examiner.
