I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon (BM MSc FRCS (Eng)), appointed at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in September 2020, and on the GMC Specialist Register for General Surgery (from August 2020). My clinical practice covers elective and emergency general/colorectal surgery, including peri-operative decision-making, consent, complication recognition and management, and post-operative care pathways. I hold substantive leadership and education roles within my Trust, including Deputy Clinical Director and Trust Specialty Training Lead (Surgery), and I chair the Surgical Education Committee. I have extensive experience of clinical governance processes and structured report writing within the NHS (including rapid reviews, incident investigations and Datix-related reporting), and I have written a number of reports for HM Coroner in relation to inquest proceedings. I completed my revalidation in November 2025 and my next revalidation is due in 2030.
