Mr Kambiz Hashemi MB, ChB, FRCS, MD, F.R.C.E.M. Consultant (Part-time) in EM, Croydon University Hospital (2011-) I Qualified from Birmingham University Medical School in 1973 and spent my post-graduate training at the United Birmingham Hospitals including Birmingham Accident Hospital where a two-year research project on industrial trauma resulted in an MD Thesis granted in 1989. In September 1985 I accepted the post of Consultant in Emergency Medicine with an interest in upper limb surgery and started the first open-access hand clinic in Surrey, initially focusing on acute conditions and by 1986 covering all aspects of upper limb disorders. I was instrumental in the development and expansion of the occupational hand therapy service which now forms an essential component of patient care. I am Fellow of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Member of the Federation of the European Societies for Surgery of the Hand Holder of a Silver Award (NHS Clinical Excellence Award) Holder of Lifetime Achievement Award (2023- Croydon Medical Society) ACADEMIC & RESEARCH MD Thesis 1989 University of Birmingham Over 60 publications in scientific medical journals.
